Keeping in Shape!

So you want to know how I keep in shape. I try to keep my body toned as much as possible. Yes, I get a lazy sometimes and slack off my work-out routine, but then when I look at the repercusions of that, I head straight back to the gym.

I work-out about 3 - 4 times a week, and go running on occasion. I usually run 1 mile to the gym, work-out for about 1.5 - 2 hours, and then run 1 mile home. It's a great way for me to keep in shape. I also go on 3 mile runs on the weekends when I get a chance. I'm usually pretty busy so it's pretty hard for me to get out sometimes. (All this I do when I can, but sometimes I do go amonth without doing anything because I am lazy). Shame on me!

My workout routine usually goes as follows:

1st Day/Week - Chest/Arms
2nd Day/Week - Legs
3rd day/Week - Back/Shoulders
4th Day/Week - Chest/Arms (and so on)

Every work-out day, however, I do sit-ups, crunches and lower back exercises at the gym. I also use the Life Fitness machine for about 20 min. whenever possible. That sums it up.

I wish I could do the Step Aerobics classes, but I have no coordination and I just can't seem to get the hang of it :)

Healthy Eating!
I try to eat healthy whenever possible, however, that doesn't always happen. I hardly ever eat fast food anymore; I used to eat it almost every day. I now eat 2 meals a day. Yes, I know you're supposed to eat 3 meals a day, but I can never seem to get up early enough to make breakfast. A Sweet Success shake does me fine.

I usually eat whatever I want. Although, I tend to eat a lot of pasta, chicken and salads. I don't usually eat a lot of steak anymore. That's all I used to eat.

I admit, I even eat junkfood. I love Slurpees from 7-11, Girl Scout Cookies, Sour Patch Kids, gummie coke bottles, and chocolate mousse pie. Yum, yum!!! I have to watch out though :)

Cross Country and Track Memories
I attended Lutheran High School of Orange from 1988-1992. While there, I ran track & field all four years, and I ran cross country my junior and senior years.

Those days were some of the best times I've ever had! Being a part of a team and going on road trips was so much fun. The best part was that almost every road trip was co-ed, so to and from our destinations the girls would flirt with the boys and vice versa. What fun that was!!!

I also ran cross country and track & field my first year of college at Whittier College. I got pregnant at 19, the summer after my first year of college, and since then I have not run competitively. I can't wait to go back into it. Maybe I'll go to graduate school and run then because in order to be on a team at school, you have to be a full-time student. By then, I'll be making enough money to go to school full-time and not have to work at my daytime job. I can't wait!! That's the plan - we'll see...
